Each year, more than 4,000 Americans die and more than 25,000 are injured in fires, many of which could be prevented. Direct property loss due to fires is estimated at $8.6 billion annually.
The morning of August 4th I received a phone call from my fiance telling me that our friends house had caught fire. This house was like a second home to everyone. Especially my fiance. He had been going there since he was about 5 years old. I hurried up and got dressed and drove over to the house. When I arrived the fire truck was still there and they were still putting out some of the smoke. The garage was completely gone and the car in the driveway was just a piece of metal. No one else was there. I was then told that we were going to McDonalds to eat. So I showed up there. All of their family was there. Minus one of the sons who left that Sunday to go to Lake Texoma for a 2 week course for school. I started helping the sister of the friend. It was certainly an interesting experience. We all went out to lunch and then headed to the house. We started running through the house trying to find anything we could salvage. I was actually surprised on some of the things that we were able to save. Their mom died about 7 years ago and so all of her stuff was in the house. Amazingly all of the pictures were recoverable. She was seriously in the house. They did lose their 2 cats and their bird. It was very saddening. I took care of our friends room since he was gone. I got a list from him of the stuff that he was wanting.
Anyways...I got in the mood to really run over this chick. This would be the same chick that I took with me to Dallas that didn't even bother to say thank you or anything. After we told her. She started bawling. It was really weird, since she was no longer dating the friend and stuff. She only hung around that house so the dad would give her money for doing a half ass job at cleaning. And when I say half ass job.. I mean it. Well she is running around trying to be the boss of everything. We were all dead set in getting stuff done before she got there. She then got mad and called our friend and told him that we weren't letting him help. Well that pissed me off which pissed their sister off. This chick was trying to say that I wasn't doing anything when I was covered in ash.. She is a psycho. Well. She is a needy little bitch. She would call every day after she got off work so someone would go and pick her up. Are you kidding me? Their house just burned down and you want them to come tend to your every need. Well one day she forgot her badge and I guess she didn't have her keys either. So the husband of the daughter and I went to go get her from work and take her to her house so she could find he badge. Guess what. She didn't even find the badge and when we got back to her work. She got out of the car and didn't even bother to say Thank you. This chick is so damn selfish. I would love to run her over and back up again. LoL. I know that is mean to say. But damn. Well on Friday our friend was able to leave for the weekend and he showed up. He wanted to walk the house by himself and then with his sister. Well he had a little short fat shadow following him. She was literally glued to his ass. Remind you that they aren't even together. If I was him. I'd drop her to the curb, but we all know why she is still around. She puts out. HAHAHA Anyways we finished getting all that we needed out of the house and into storage. Now they are just waiting for the house to be demolished so they can start rebuilding. It certainly has been one hell of an experience that I hope I never have to go through again.
Here are some of the pictures that I took the day of the fire.
